The LMD system
Licence, Master, Doctorate: the degree structure behind our programmes, which makes your achievements recognisable everywhere.
The Licence – Master – Doctorat (Bachelor – Master – Doctorate) system organises higher education into three levels, divided into semesters and measured in transferable credits. Adopted by all institutions in the sub-region, it makes study paths comparable from one university to another and makes it easier to continue studying and to have degrees recognised abroad.
ISEIG SUP applies this framework to all its programmes, under the academic supervision of its partner universities.
The three levels
Licence (Bachelor)
A level + 3 · 6 semesters · 180 credits
Master
A level + 5 · 4 semesters · 120 credits
Doctorate
A level + 8 · 3 years or more · 180 credits
Credits and validation
A credit represents a student's workload: lectures, tutorials, personal study and assessments. A completed semester is worth 30 credits, a year 60 credits.
- Credits are cumulative: a subject once passed stays passed.
- They are transferable: they follow you if you change institution.
- Compensation between subjects within the same semester applies according to the institution's rules.
The exact rules on assessment, compensation and resits are set by the ISEIG SUP academic regulations and communicated at the start of the academic year.
